Privacy and cookies

The short version: nothing you type into our calculators is sent to us or anyone else. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, we don’t have accounts, and we can’t see your answers.
Who we are
Estimate My Wealth is an independent website based in the UK. For anything about your privacy, email hello@estimatemywealth.co.uk.
What you type into a calculator
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Your answers are saved in your browser’s own storage (called local storage) so they are still there when you come back. They are never sent to us, and we have no way of seeing them.
To remove them, press “Start again with the example” on the calculator, or clear your browser’s data for this site.
The notice at the bottom of the page
The first time you visit, a short notice explains that we don’t use tracking cookies. When you close it, your browser’s local storage remembers that, so it doesn’t keep coming back. That note stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Counting visits
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit each page, so we know which calculators are useful. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything on your device, and doesn’t identify you or follow you to other sites. We only see totals, such as page views and which country and type of device visits came from.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages to you and to protect the site from attacks. If it sees traffic that looks automated, it may set a short-lived security cookie. That cookie is strictly necessary to keep the site running and isn’t used to track you. Fonts
Our pages use fonts from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser asks Google’s servers for the font files, which means Google receives your IP address. Google says it doesn’t use this to build profiles or target advertising. See Google Fonts and privacy.
If you email us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply. We keep the conversation for as long as it’s useful, then delete it. Email to our address is forwarded to our inbox by Cloudflare.
Adverts
The site doesn’t show adverts yet. If we add them, we will update this page first and ask your permission before any advertising cookies are used.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. In practice the only personal data we could hold is an email you’ve sent us. Email hello@estimatemywealth.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
